On 15th July , 2009, in Whangarei , Paul Reynolds, co-director to McGovern Online will lead a workshop on Web 2.0 tools and frameworks as part of the ongoing professional development series for the Aotearoa Peoples Network.

Aotearoa Peoples Network / LIANZA Web 2.0

The Web 2.0 seminar series is organised by LIANZA, the New Zealand professional body for librarians, on behalf of the Aotearoa Peoples Network

The Whangarei session will be the 10th time the one day course has run. Other sessions, in partnership with Paul Sutherland of Christchurch City Libraries have been held in Auckland, Masterton, Christchurch, Nelson, Gisborne, Hamilton , Whaganui and the West Coast, and Invercargill.

The course

The course is a day long hands on workshop which offers  a theoretical grounding to the tools and practices known as Web 2.0, as well as providing a series of hands on exercises which give the participants the confidence to use and contribute to the growing body of professional web 2.0 practice.

GLAM

Though structured around the needs of the professional librarian, the course is also of relevance to other parts of the collections sector, including Museums, galleries and archives, GLAM
