ARTSPACE is a leading New Zealand contemporary art institution which presents contemporary art by emerging and established New Zealand and international artists.
ARTSPACE approached McGovern to redesign their website to bring it up to current user expectations and to reflect the needs of different audiences. The project involved a redesign of architecture, navigation, and interface, ensuring each was consistent and usable, and the integration of a content management system and email newsletter.
In order to promote forthcoming events, as well as hold ARTSPACE's event and exhibition history, the redesign includes a searchable events calendar which contains an extraordinary depth of content, all the way back to 1986.
It is anticipated that the website will evolve over time to further increase visibility of ARTSPACE beyond its walls, increase membership and, via the use of the inbuilt email newsletter, reduce the cost of communicating with members and those with an interest in contemporary art practice.
